| Ein außergewöhnliches, schlicht-schönes Bandoneon der Firma Ernst L. Arnold. Das perfekt erhaltene Palisanderfurnier wurde leicht neu mit Schellack poliert. Es hat ein 3-Blumen Jugendstil-Dekor mit doppelten Silberfaden. Der für ELA typische Stempel auf dem Mechanikboden der linken Hand zeigt den 23.06.1928 als das Baujahr. Die komplette Restaurierung sowie der neue Balg wurde von Oscar Fischer von "Casa Del Bandoneon" in Buenos Aires / Argentinien gemacht. www.lacasadelbandoneon.com.ar Dieses eher seltene ELA-Bandoneons hat Stimmplatten aus Zink. ELA baute bevorzugt das damals relativ neu entwickelte Dur-Aluminium. Mit den originalen Zinkplatten hat das Instrument einen großen und tiefgründigen Klang. Eine Besonderheit zeichnet alle Bandoneons von ELA aus; an den äußeren Mechanikhebeln erkennt man eine "Verstärkung", was tatsächlich eine Verbreiterung der Mechanikbreite ist. Diese Verbreiterung ist notwendig, da die Stimmplatten bei diesem Modell breiter als regulär sind. Breitere Platten haben mehr Platz zwischen den Stimmzungenpaaren und somit mehr Platz in den windführenden Kanzellen. Die übliche Enge mit einem Ventil und einer schwingenden Zunge in jeder Kanzelle ist hier entspannter, besonders in der linken Hand. Einen besonderen Einfluß auf den Klang erkläre ich mir bei diesen größeren Platten auch durch das Mehr an Zink, welches hier als erhöhte Kontramasse der schwingenden Zunge entgegengesetzt wird. So erkläre ich mir auch den Grund, warum die Firma Ernst L. Arnold, die fast ausschließlich mit Aluminiumplatten gebaut hat, die breiteren Platten durchgehend behalten hat. An exceptional and beautiful Bandoneon from the Ernst L. Arnold company. The perfectly preserved rosewood veneer has been lightly re-polished with shellac. It has a 3-flower Art Nouveau decoration with double silver thread. The typical ELA stamp on the mechanic back of the left hand shows 23.06.1928 as the year of manufacture. The complete restoration as wel as the new bellow was made by Oscar Fischer from "Casa Del Bandoneon" in Buenos Aires / Argentina. www.lacasadelbandoneon.com.ar This rather rare ELA Bandoneon has reedplates made of zinc. ELA preferred to use the then relatively newly developed major aluminum. With the original zinc plates, the instrument has a large and deep sound. A special feature distinguishes all Bandoneons from ELA. On the outer mechanic levers you can see a "reinforcement", which is actually a widening of the action width. This widening is necessary because the reedplates on their models are wider than regular. Wider plates have more room between the pairs of reeds, and thus more room in the wind-carrying comb. The usual tightness with a valve and a swinging reed in the chambers is more relaxed here, especially in the left hand. I explain a special influence on the sound with these larger plates also by the more zinc, which is opposed here as increased Contra mass of the swinging reed. This is also how I explain the reason why the Ernst L. Arnold company, which built almost exclusively with aluminum plates, kept the wider plates throughout.
