Gut verpackt, ging das in den vergangenen fünfundzwanzig Jahren immer problemlos. Gut verpackt ist ein Bandoneon in seinem Originalkoffer oder seiner Instrumententasche und wiederum in einem großen Karton. Ich empfehle mindestens fünf fingerbreit Verpackungsmaterial rings um das im Koffer oder Tasche verpackte Bandoneon. Je mehr, desto besser! Das Porto für einen großen Versandkarton ist meist nicht teurer als für einen kleinen. Die Maximalmaße variieren von Anbieter zu Anbieter. Das gut verpackte Zinkplatten-Bandoneon kommt mit Karton und Verpackungsmaterial über die 10 Kg-Grenze. Das Paket mit einem Aluminiumplatten-Bandoneon kann noch unter 10 Kg sein, was eine nächste Preiskategorie bei den meisten Anbietern ist. Zerknülltes Zeitungspapier ist nicht geeignet als Verpackungs-material. Es verdichtet sich nach einiger Zeit während des Transports und das Instrument ist nicht mehr fixiert im Karton. In seinem harten Originalkoffer sollte das Bandoneon ebenfalls so gepolstert sein, daß es sich in demselben nicht bewegen kann. Bei seitlichen Stürzen (lateral) wirkt die Kraft nur auf die Griffe des Instrumentes. Sie drücken im Koffer gegen die Wände. Die Griffe sind ebenfalls robust und so kann man das Instrument an den Griffen mit weichem Polstermaterial im Koffer sichern. Tastatur, Brummkasten und die Aussägearbeit vor und hinter den Griffen sind empfindlich und sollten nicht gedrückt werden (siehe Foto). In einer weichen Instrumententasche ist das Bandoneon ausreichend fixiert. Hier müssen die Griffe nicht extra gepolstert werden. Transportversicherung Bei den verschiedenen Versandanbietern ist eine verhältnismäßig geringe Haftung für Transportschäden eingeschlossen. Alle Anbieter bieten darüber hinaus Transportversicherungen an. Nach Auskunft von Postbediensteten, stellt eine Transportversicherung im Falle eines Schadens hohe Anforderungen. Das Paket soll bestimmte Verpackungsstandards erfüllen. So soll der Fall aus ein bis zwei Metern den Inhalt unbeschadet lassen.
