| Beim Bau unserer Instrumente wurden auf den verschiedenen Bauteilen mit einem violettfarbenen Stempel, Bleistift oder Prägestempel eine sogenannte Produktionsnummer angebracht. Die Produktionsnummer im Inneren des Bandoneons findet man auf praktisch allen Bauteilen, also in den Deckeln, den beiden Balgrahmen, dem Brummkasten und mit Bleistift auf der jeweils ersten Stimmplatte. Mit dieser Produktionsnummer wurden die zusammengehörigen Teile eines Instrumentes markiert. In der Produktion mochte es Unmengen an gleich aussehenden Bauteilen gegeben haben. Nun paßt aber kein Deckel auf die Mechanik eines anderen Bandoneons und keine Stimmplatte in ein anderes Instrument, auch wenn sie baugleich aussehen. Unsere Instrumente wurden von Meistern in Handarbeit gebaut. Sie erscheinen identisch, sind es aber nicht. Sie sind individuell. Die Kennzeichnung mit einer Nummer war also im Fertigungsprozeß notwendig. Manche Exportinstrumente von Alfred Arnold (AA) haben zusätzlich eine fünfstellige Nummer außen auf dem Diskantdeckel geprägt. Diese, in Argentinien sogenannte "Seriennummer", korreliert mit der Produktionsnummer im Inneren. Sie wurde nur an manchen Exportinstrumenten angebracht. Seltene Exportmodelle die nicht exportiert wurden, tragen diese Nummer nicht. The production number inside the Bandoneon can be found on practically all components, so in the lids, the two bellow frames, the left hand baffle and with pencil on the first reedplate on each side. The related parts of an instrument were marked with this production number. In production, there may have been an enormous number of identical looking components. But now no lid fits on the mechanics of another Bandoneon and no reedplate fits into another instrument, even if they look the same. Our instruments were handmade by masters. They appear identical, but they are not. They are individual. The identification with a number was therefore necessary in the production process. Some Alfred Arnold (AA) export instruments have an additional five-digit number embossed on the outside of the treble lid. This "serial number", as it is known in Argentina, correlates with the production number on the inside. It was only applied to some export instruments.
